Big Red Chair filming

24/07/09

A big thank you to all of our students and partner primary school children who took part in the Big Red Chair film shoot over the past few weeks!

The Big Red Chair campaign has been a great success, enabling Maltby’s young people to express their ideas for the proposed Maltby Academy about learning, the use of technology and the school’s environment.

We have had some excellent feedback from all who took part in the shoot and will be sharing their thoughts and showcasing their video clips very soon!

All ideas provided by the students will be used to help shape the proposed Maltby Academy which is due to open in January 2010.

Here’s a sneak preview of just some of the ideas from the students:

"I'd like the school to be brighter. Like all the classrooms could be white but have one wall in a bright colour."

"I think if you make the classrooms look more modern, it will encourage us to learn and work more."

"I think we should all have laptops instead of books."

"I'd like to see more trees and bushes so it's a nicer environment."

"I think we should make the corridors more attractive, more modern and that we should get more PE equipment."
